"That's not what it says on your driver"s license."
zapperParticipantYeah and hell yeah. That great stuff is always welcomed. Nice work.
zapperParticipantHmmm… no suggestions? That's discouraging.
My best results have come from silly amounts of cardio combined with eating only fibrous carbs after 6 p.m. (mostly steamed broccoli or spinach salad). The problem, for me anyway, was sustaining that diet too long.
Some have sung the praises of cardio in the morning on an empty stomach. Personally, this doesn't do it for me. No calories = low intensity for this kid.
Swimming and jump rope are very effective for me. What about you?
zapperParticipantMy pleasure friend. ;D
Someone mentioned crossfit, which is truly the cat's meow. Fast and effective. My only suggestion is to scale it to your own level. "Fight gone bad" is particularly fun and a very great workout that is pretty quick although it will stay with you for a few days.
zapperParticipantInteresting idea. I've never tried something like this, so I dunno. Neverthess, exercise of any kind is better than none.
What you suggested made me think of the 300, which is hella effective b/c you'll get all the blood flowing in your legs before pounding your shoulders, etc. which makes the work out more effective. Check out Gym Jone's 300 workout (the bad movie) and give it a go. This type of training works well. Good luck and welcome back to the iron game.

That said, start slow, set realistic goals and set yourselves up for success.
Personal trainers can be great or worthless, so I'd look carefully before spending your loot on one. Common sense will get you further than most PTs. Start of training 3 days a week doing cardio at least one of those days. Keep your cardio to approx 20 minutes. The key to intro cardio is to keep the pace at where you and your wife can hold a conversation together. If you're outta breath, slow down. A lot of weight training is counterintuitive, and this is one.
For weight training, try a push-pull split for starters. Train Chest and Triceps on Monday, Legs and abs on Wednesday, and Back/shoulders and Biceps on Friday.
Eventually, you can really tweak your diet and dial it in, but gradual and consistent is more important. Use common sense. Eat 3 times a day, avoid sugar, soda, and what you already know isn't good for you. Someone else said it, but steer clear of the supplement world save for protein powder. Most of that stuff is overpriced snake oil.
Lastly (finally right? When will this guy shut up?!?), ask a lot of questions and stay consistent. Training with your wife will be a lot of fun too. I had an ex-girlfriend that I told the same thing to, and she started coming to the gym with me and making some pretty freaky results for how little she really did, bursting buttons and all the rest. She was a real natural. Unfortunately, it was what I wanted and not her, so she gave it up even though she really liked the way she looked and felt. Just 2 cents from one buff-chick lover to another. Good luck with your goals, make 'em specific stay consistent and ya can't lose.
zapperParticipantHot stuff. Seems like demure little asian women are becoming a thing of the past. Thank god.
zapperParticipantThe trend seems to be hardness and fullness, which can be a lot of mass on a small frame. It's a strange illusion between tiny woman and massive muscles, and it is more acceptable than mega-huge.
I suppose there will be those pushing the 250 mark, but if any woman grows that large it won't be for a trophy.
zapperParticipantWhew. Whatta knock out. 😮
zapperParticipantThanks for posting these. They make me recall when I first first saw her and was totally stunned that such a beautiful woman could be so big and totally hot. She definately brought the "woman" in women's bodybuilding.
