HeyBraff,
This work actually reminds me a little bit of DCM work. Am I wrong here or does any one else get a similar feel ???
Good Stuff
Nope, you're not wrong.
DCM is a kind of Jedi for me, I've improved a lot in watching his work (yeah I used to draw about as well as my nephew who is 4) , and I remember he had posted on his site a few years ago a tutorial on how to color a picture. I use this technique since and get a lot of inspiration.
And like him I use my collection of bodybuilding pictures as a base for my drawings.
But the comparison almost stops there. DCM works in another stellar system. 🙂However I wish I was as good as he is !
Anyway feed backs are really appreciated, thanks a lot guys.

I'm honored Mister Matthews … 😉

Wow… I'm honored, and flattered, that you've gotten so much inspiration from my feeble efforts. (It's a little frightening, too, given that I still have so much to learn yet… I hope you aren't picking up any of my bad habits!)
Another artist on this forum you could learn a lot from (I do) is Chris "Dr. Otto" Morrison. Check out his Polymer City Chronicles site, and the drawings he's posted here.
"Jedi", huh? Hee hee… never had a padawan before 😀
(Oh, and if anyone's interested in checking out that tutorial Harry mentioned, it's here.)
******
Okay, this is weird… I've edited and previewed three times now, and I can't seem to make a valid link to Chris's site, and the link text has that strange s.com/index.shtml" target=_blank" attribute that isn't in the link text I typed. Well, just copy 'n' paste this URL into your browser: http://www.polymercitychronicles.com/index.shtml******
WHAT THE F****? I typed out Chris's URL as plain text without any code tags at all and it's still showing up with s.com/etc. etc. in front of it! What gives???!!!August 14, 2005 at 7:32 pm #1087110-4ParticipantNot bad. I like it. 😎
August 14, 2005 at 10:52 pm #10872Harry BraffParticipantI wanted to post this picture in the "comics section" since it was a request of an older topic in that section.
Unfortunately the topic is closed. So I post my humble contribution here.
It's not really original art, it's more a work of collage.Take a good old saucepan and melt the following ingredients :
– a bunch of Archie's comic books
– an astonishing Heather Policky picture (wowza I love this girl !!)
– a great Amanda Dunbar picture (another great woman)
– a DCM's Tetsuko poseLet it cool a while, turn it out and serve it on amaz0ns.com
Here's the result.
(I hope noone will have an indigestion of my contributions).😆

August 15, 2005 at 6:12 pm #10875Tommy DreamerParticipantI just wanted to chime in and show my support for this budding artist. Great work. And DCM… how do you get that smilel that is thinking "Good Work!", and is there any way to make him think anything else?
