ParticipantSay, y’all… I’d been to http://www.bumwine.com and I’d been thinkin’…
What kind of villains can you come up with these names?
Thunderbird
Night Train
Wild Irish Rose
Mad Dog 20/20
CiscoI think they’d make quite a bad guy team… I’ll talk more next time.
Interesting that you think of these as villain names, yet the first inspiration I got from the first name, Thunderbird, was a superheroine.
Specifically, an (American) Indian princess (okay, I was watching Disney’s Pocahontas recently) who possesses weather-control powers similar to X-Men’s Storm.
As for the others… I ‘ll leave them for others. (Except to say that "Wild Irish Rose" could be the leader of a crime syndicate; a much younger, sultrier, sexier (and female, and Irish) version of Don Corleone or Tony Soprano. No superpowers, but a powerful personality that can be by turns aggressively hostile or irresistably seductive.)

ParticipantSpider Man’s very own Mary Jane
Do we post the answers to the requests here as well? Here’s a pic I did back in ’02 for the late lamented Wreck Shop board… remember this?

(I made this an image link at first so that it would show up in the page, but there’s a bare nipple in the pic which might render the thing NSFW, so I changed it to a link.)

ParticipantInteresting. I noticed that your heroines resemble each other. This isn’t equivalent to saying that they look alike, but they don’t seem very diverse. This isn’t a criticism, because they are all hot, but rather an observation.
Well, I got a thing for tan muscular blondes 😆
Seriously, that is something I need to work on in the future. (It’s one of the reasons I gave Dyna red hair.) If you’re interested in seeing a DCM character that isn’t just another blonde, look at Muscle Girl. <-that’s a link. She’s a circus strongwoman who is known only by her stage name "Muscle Girl" or "MG" for short; nobody knows her real name… including herself! So naturally, part of the overriding series arc is her quest to find her true identity and heritage. I deliberately gave MG a multi-ethnic look that’s hard to pin down to one race or ethnicity.
mistress? 😉 )

ParticipantI voted G… but I can find something to like in almost every category 😉

ParticipantI’m almost positive the episode — and the character — was
called "Formicida."smitty
That episode is now available on the Wonder Woman – The Complete Third Season DVD set, just released yesterday (6/7). (I haven’t bought mine yet, but the day isn’t over!)

ParticipantIt isn’t limited to you, Pug; I feel the same way.
In fact, I may be worse than you: I have that "squick factor" regarding evil in almost any form. I wouldn’t be able to enjoy even the fantasy you mention of interrogation by the evil woman in the tight military uniform, Nazi or no Nazi. (Unless an Amazon in a star-spangled bikini came crashing through the wall to rescue me… I could enjoy that part of the fantasy 😆 )

ParticipantYour heroines are sublime. By the way, what are satin Steele’s powers?
Satin doesn’t really have "powers" as such… I posit her as being naturally (genetically) gifted for structure, muscle development, and strength, but not superhumanly so. And since I’ve changed the direction of her series from "heroic adventure" to "sports/drama", she really doesn’t have need of super powers.

ParticipantOMG! Enjoying the story… but where’s the rest of it?? I was reading breathlessly along, and then it cut off in the mid

ParticipantExcellent work once again, dear David.
I’s am glad to see you delving into character and displaying their faults (Satin’s insecurity, her boyfriend’s displeasure, etc) rather than just keeping them as Super Hero cliches and standards (powerful woman and loyal but naive boyfriend).
Kudos to you and your work.
Peace
The Pimp NeonBlackAnd I’m happy to find you here at She Grew! Your comments are always a pleasure to read.

ParticipantI see your using a lot more modified photographs in your art nowadays. By any chance, would you happen to own a blue Ford Taurus?
Why, yes I do… what a coinkydink! 😉
Fact of the matter is, I effin’ hate drawing buildings and cars. They take up so much time, and if you don’t get the perspective and the other crap exactly right, it looks like, well, crap. So you can expect to see a lot more use of photos in my work. Lets me devote more time to drawing the fun things, like Satin, and Tetsuko, and Dyna, and…
