😕 Did Satin opened her own gym?  Maybe you aren't paying her enough and she did some extras at Marvel… 😛

Well, I'm certainly not paying her what she's worth! 😆

The idea of her opening her own gym is a cool one, though… a little later in her career, once she's built a rep and a fanbase (in the series; I know she's got a bit of one already on the Web).

So I'm guessing by the caption in panel 1 of the first page you posted that "Salon Steele" is owned by a woman named Marcy Steele. Ya gotta admit, "Steele" is a great last name for a character who's noted for strength or physical fitness… as Mandi, Adara and Kendall could tell you.

Until a week or two ago I wouldn't have known what you meant, DCM (me being a Brit and all), but then I came across this video on M90, which seems to be the episode you were talking about (or one of the episodes?).

    http://www.m90.org/view_image.php?image_id=6976

This show was just so nasty. *sigh* and I used to like him in The Truman Show…

That's not the one I saw; the one I saw was a satire on FBB contests. David Alan Grier, if I got his name right, played the MC who'd make such charming remarks as (paraphrased) "She's trained real hard, but she still hasn't managed to get rid of her breasts". (The punchline of the skit was Jim coming out in those ponytails and that "bikini" thing …yeah, a man, and a pretty skinny one at that, playing a woman bodybuilder. A real laff riot.)

And since there were no Conan references (that I remember, anyway) in that one… then that must mean he's done that character three times at least. Which is not improving my opinion…

Look, if you thought it was funny, if you were entertained by it, and you think I'm being "needlessly bitter", I won't argue with you. Just telling you how I feel.

    The "Scaramanga" gene… clever. 😆

    Nice find!

Nice work so far on Nami.

And you've at least got MY thumbs up on the sketch on Dyna.  Hope DCM gives his, too, so we can see the finished stuff.  Looks promising.

I wanna see how it turns out!

Well, so much for that idea…

In these days when trying to come up with a good, short URL is getting more and more difficult, Amaz0ns is a clever name. I'll guess that http://www.amazons.com was already spoken for (as well as the singular "amazon" and what the heck is an online book/CD/DVD store doing with the name "Amazon" anyway??) So I don't understand why you think it's such an "unfortunate" name.

    HOWEVER…

If Lingster had this to do over again (because of hosting/server issues like the ones that blew up Transvigor/She Grew!, and let's all hope that doesn't happen again), there is a pretty cool name he could use. It was used in a post to this forum – and I'm sorry I can't remember which topic or who the poster was, he deserves the credit for this word – the new site could be called "Girlmuscle". (Hell, if I could afford to I'd register that name myself!)

But "Amaz0ns" suits just fine AFAIC.

(Interesting: I just previewed this message, and the software parsed the "amazons" address I mentioned as a link. Got a "could not be found" message when I clicked on it, but that doesn't mean it's not registered. Maybe Lingster decided against using "amazons" because it was too easy for someone who's trying to reach amazon.com to accidentally type an "s" after the word.)

    Jim Carrey?

The same person who "graced" us with the "character" of Vera deMilo on In Living Color… a character through which he couldn't express enough cruelty and hatred toward women bodybuilders? That Jim Carrey? He's going to play one of the Amazons, right?

Sorry, but I haven't forgiven him or the Wayans brothers for that. (Do you realize that more people watched that one episode of INC than probably the entire viewership of every FBB contest on ESPN combined? I shudder to think how many people came to hate FBBs because of that show.)

So, no, I'm not excited about this new project of his.

    Greetings!

I have at last found my way here, after the sudden and unfortunate demise of
Wreck Shop's BBS.  I have been back since around June, but I have so far been a
passive observer, being unable to contribute substantially to the BBS mostly because
I was busy moving from Yokosuka to Tokyo.

Now that I have settled down in Tokyo, my services have been asked for by the
Japanese female muscle fandom, to seek a permission from dcmatthews about
    Tetsuko-san.

Recently, Kinsyo-san, whose website and work I believe many of you have seen
already, have expressed a certain desire to pay homage to Tetsuko-san, by doing
his own images of her.  I have volunteered to seek DCM's permission in this, and
    here I am.  So:

Dear master Matthews, will you grant Kinsyo san permission to draw a few images
of Tetsuko-san in his own way?  If so, what are the terms and conditions?

        Best Regards,

        Ad-Meyer @ Tokyo

Tell Kinsyo-san that I am flattered and honored that he wants to feature Tetsuko in his art, and that all I ask of him is the following: 1) that he include somewhere in the picture the following text: "Tetsuko created by and (c) David C. Matthews" (my name can be abbreviated "DCM" for space) and 2) that he include a link back to my website on the page he posts the pictures on.

And I'm eager to see what he come up with!
