KeymasterHAS ANYONE SIGN UP ON LH-ART SITE AND WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK ABOUT IT THINKING ON JOINING.
LH-Art’s marketing sucks, but the content is good. I own a bunch of their books, and enjoyed every one of them.

KeymasterThat’s really good. I like the coloring and shading a lot, but I think you should work on line thickness and consistency. You should try to make your line work just as deliberate and expressive as your colors. As it is you’re relying on the shading as the sole means of conveying a sense of volume and fullness to the viewer, but neglecting line work that can emphasize the same characteristics.
For a really good example, probably the best line-work in newspaper comics ever was Li’l Abner during the period of Frank Frazetta’s ghosting for Al Capp – mid-50s through the early 60s. Capp had always used line-work very effectively, and when Frazetta took on the job ghosting for him, he sort of out-Capp’ed Capp. Frazetta was admired and hated as a young man for his ability to mimick other artists’ styles and strengths, and then improve on them. Now he’s old and pretty much worshipped for the the output of his career. Here’s a gallery of his work: http://www.wadhome.org/frazetta/comics0004.html

KeymasterI wish I jest! š
Edit: Nevermind. I found it myself.
You were supposed to write, "I’m not jesting. And don’t call me ‘Shirley’."

KeymasterI concur. Itās a nice pic. Also Iām liking the avatar. Very nice. 8)
The avatar is something I made several years ago for Mistress Krista of Stumptuous.com. I also made one with the same figure, squatting a scrawny male figure (her boyfriend, presumably). I had initially intended to use it as the avatar, but it’s too large and would really cut into bandwidth. But for your viewing pleasure, here it is, never before seen by our community:

KeymasterI have 3 chapters of the NMGE story on Dianna’s…They are unconvienently hard to find though…after I finish my next story, a Naruto FMG fanfic, I’ll ask her to give me a bookshelf to call my own, as well as a contributors membership lol!
Thanks again Red!

KeymasterMan, the Nazi’s weren’t around before more than twice as long as my entire life-span. They hold no real threat anymore and are more of a example, not an active presence. There’s a lot of evil going on in other MGS stories, since when are we a bunch of goody two shoes? Good wins in the end anyways. I think the evil Nazi stuff was hot. You guys have been listening to too many of Bush’s "good vs. evil" speeches. (*wink*)
I agree that the Nazis are overused. Did anyone else read the recent Ultimate Nightmare series Marvel put out? The fight between "Ultimate" Captain America and "Ultimate" Red Guardian was excellent. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but the idea of Captain America really being a soldier, with a soldier’s ethics, makes the story so much more powerful. So when he kills the Red Guardian in an extremely forceful, deliberate way, it seems the natural, just outcome for a very, very bad guy.
One of the problems I have with standard superhero comics is the goody-two-shoes morality. I mean, why is the Joker still alive? He’s killed hundreds of people, and every time Batman locks him up, he gets out. If Batman had a lick of sense, he would have ended it a long time ago (which is the theme of Miller’s mid-80s Dark Knight Returns).

KeymasterThank you for passing on this information, dear Masschine.
Hopefully Wreck shall soon an upturn in his fortunes but, until then, wish him our best.
Peace
The Pimp NeonBlackIf Wreck wanted his own board here, or to moderate a board here, or something else like that, I’d certainly accomodate him.

KeymasterI believe many of the Tarzan strips are collected at LH-Art. I think I’ve seen them there – the ‘woo woo’ women or something, right?
Let me know if you think it would be appropriate to post a few of them here for people or not.
Ummmm…not appropriate. LH-Art is where I first spotted the strips, but the collection is incomplete. I’d like to see the whole storyline.
If anyone wants to see a partial collection, lhart.com has them in the members area, I think.
