More advice for you, dear Kulli.
I's had a random encounter with one of Raver's dear friends, one we call "Meat Geek", a self-describe nerd who is also an avid powerlifter. When I's mentioned that I's knew a person who was looking to become a powerlifter such as he, he recommended that you apprentice yourself to an established powerlifter who is willing to train (but ensure that they are willing and are a good person to train under) and help you through your course.
He also suggested getting in contact with your local or national powerlifting organsiation/federation to see if they know of any acredited instructors, trainers and/or gyms in your local area. Since you are in England, best to try and find the United Kingdom Powerlifters Federation (if they are still around).

The last time someone openly question my's purchase of a female muscle magazine (which, juxtaposely enough, was for an other person too embarressed to by it themselves) was most amusing.
It from a newangency a few doors down from a gentleman's club/strip venue/high class brothel that I's worked at, so it was a place which I's frequented regularly, and a patron (who was trying to impress his wife/girlfriend) actually had the gaul to call I a "pervert" for my's choice in reading material.
To which I's merely looked him in eye, quoted the last 10 pornographic magazines that I's had observed him buy over the course of several days (dates included), what fetish he was currently enjoying (schoolgirl/principle dress-up fantasies) and how many times (again, including dates and times) he had visited my's work place over the course of a month.
Needless to say, not much was said my's purchase and, though he was muched angered and embarrassed, he thought twice about entangling I in combat.
The only repercusion was I's almost lost my's job at the venue but that was well worth effort in order to expose a hypocrite such as that man.

There is no muscle on the wrists to build but you can strengthen them in order to help with your other workouts.
The wrist joints are often far too neglected and much damage can be done without enforcing them properly against the rigors of training. This is known from experience.
Martial Arts training is the best way to strengthen the wrists. Basics stretches, tension building and isometric excerises.
You can also do inverse flexs with small weights to strengthen them but that is best left until you have bulid stengthen in your forearms.
The best way to do these is to place your arm flat on a table or the like so it is extending away from your body but with the elbow tucked into your abdomine. Place a small weight (such as a light dumb bell or bar) on your palm, tighten your grip so you can feel the tendons pulling and then, as slowly as you possibly can, curl your hand towards you and then move it just as slowly back. Repeat up to ten times -do not do more than nessesary or damage may be done.

I's know nothing about her but The Shadow insists that she is fair upon the eyes.
