The Switch has some old Nintendo games available to play.. I was recently playing the NES version of Double Dragon II, and noticed it has some muscular punk girls as villains. Graphics are pretty blocky, so u have to use your imagination some. But you can see the muscular intent, a pleasant surprise for an era when female muscle was harder to come by..

    Going back to the 8os..
Has anybody mentioned Jane Badler.. She played Diana, on ‘V’. She was already a sexy, intimidating villain. Could’ve been even more (deliciously) menacing with some muscle added to her frame.

    don’t forget about Sherry Smith

yup, forgive me.. I did remember Smith was a firefighter out in Oklahoma. And she was one of my early 2000s favorites. Smith did a killer photo shoot with WPW back in the day. She was basically offseason, wearing like a lavender micro-thong. Really beautiful..

    So was Lisa Lorio. https://www.muscleville2.com/Lisa-Lorio_c_734.html

    That’s cool..
I remember Lisa, but didn’t recall that she was also a firefighter.

I think the Sandy Riddell story was even notable outside of bodybuilding fandom, because she was the first female firefighter in Phoenix. But it’s been a minute, and I might be remembering wrong.
Either way, buff female firefighters are badass.

^ That is a really great image.. the shredded-up top, the musculature, fair complexion, her slight smile. I like it. And thanks for sharing the info on Vella.
I illustrate and write (site address is in my signature). I’ll have to check Vella out.

yeah, drawing is definitely a cyclical thing. Gotta take advantage of inspiration when it comes.
I forgot to mention.. The face in your sketch kinda resembles Juliette Bergmann.. any chance she inspired the face (?) Juliette did kind of have a Prince Adam/He-man haircut back in the ‘8os.

I remember Sandy Riddell was great, early, musclebound firefighter..

Raye Hollitt in her late ’80s prime..
I love the exchange, when Raye asks as she’s posing for John Ritter (I’m paraphrasing, been a while since I’ve seen the movie), “How does this make you feel ?”
And Ritter, awaiting in bed for Raye answers nervously “.. like Mrs. Arnold Schwarzenegger”

    great scene.
