ParticipantI was actually thinking of starting my own web sight but have no idea where to begin. I've never put together a web page before. I know it probably very easy but having never done it be for I'm pretty clueless.
Great stuff!!
You might want to try Geocities at Yahoo. The sites are free and if you know nothing about HTML code, they give you templates to work from and you can just plug in what you want. The downside…and it can be a big one… is the limited storage and bandwith space. If you get a popular reaction for your stuff (which shouldn't be hard) the bandwith can limit your audience and cause frustration.

ParticipantProbably WTMI (Way Too Much Information), but *sigh* that's when Saturday mornings were fun! Space Ghost, The Herculoids, Hot Wheels and Sky Hawks… does anyone else remember an animated version of King Kong?
DCM,
Oh yeah I remember the Kong allright… ( Singing in Basso Profundo voice ) "King Kong, you know the name of King Kong, You know the name of King Kong…TEN TIMES AS BIG AS A MAN!!!"
I'm NOT making those lyrics up (remember when 'toons had lyrics?) Check out the Toon Tracker website where you can download classic cartoon tv themes and clips.

ParticipantJust about everything I do is an offshoot of my animation-influenced style. The fewer lines I can use to create an image the better, although I still sometimes go back to my earlier prediliction of heavy detailing (the genie image is an example of this). A lot of my more detailed work is influenced by the now-defunct Filmation.
My GAWD I thought I was the only one who remembered Filmation! (FYI, they did He-Man, Star Trek and a pretty good Flash Gordon as I recall).

ParticipantDays. I have a job, so I tend to work in the evenings (when my energies are at their lowest) and rarely on the weekends ('cause I'm usually doing something else). So it goes something like this.
DAY1: Penciing (probably an hour or two depending on how many times I "do over") DAY2: Going over the pencils in ink (Depending on how elaborate, I'd say an hour). Then Scan the artwork and clean it up (This can take awhile, if I've made too many erasures and smudges). DAY3: Colors. This for me is still a laborious process. I don't know all the photoshop shorcuts yet, and if I want to add more rendering, shadows, glares etc. That could easily go into another day.
So the overall process is 3-5 days. Sometimes I stop drawing and don't come back to it days and weeks later. Face it, I'm SLOOOOOWWWW!BTX

ParticipantNice job BTX, but Jack Kirby still has the edge on muscular women (God rest his soul
Very true.

ParticipantMy style is influenced by the "old school" Marvel House style. I loved the way Jack Kirby drew larger than life (his women too!), but much of what I do comes from improvisation (If it looks good to me, then it works). I'm not so big on the anime/manga style of rendition, but I think one cartoon in particular, "Jonny Quest" had a big impact on me visually. I see 'touches' of that style on my work. In the end, I wouldn't say I have a "finished" style. I'm always looking for ways to improve.
